«It’s one of the most violent crimes I have seen and lived through,» stated the Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, regarding the murder of a 28-year-old woman by her ex-partner outside the police department of Agii Anargyri.
Speaking on ANT1, Mr. Chrysochoidis said: «The circumstances of the incident should be fully investigated. However, when a person is lost, many things did not go well,» he highlighted, responding to a question about the responsibilities of the Greek Police (EL.AS) asked by Nikos Chatzinikolaou, the presenter of ANT1’s main news bulletin.
«Our commitment is to elucidate the crime,» the Minister of Citizen Protection further stated, adding: «We will see if the Protocol was applied.»
Nevertheless, he sent the message that women who are afraid should speak out. He also agreed with the term «femicide.»
